I've got to post this and run, but I know my fellow OSPers wanted me to get some up so I'll possibly comment on these later. I wanna give Chris Austin huge props for working hard to get this off the ground. Also to Mark Christensen for bringing so many goodies to shoot with and fto Nely for being such a great carpool buddy. It was a long day of shooting and driving but we had a great time. Here are some of my images from the day.

There are very few people in this world that I believe could be characterized as role models or heroes. Greg Koukl of STR (Stand to Reason) fits the bill. You'll notice that they've been one of the only links on blogs since my first post.
Yes, Greg is educated and knowledgeable, but what sets him apart is that he doesn't talk over your head, doesn't dance around issues, and gives compelling "arguments" that can be easily reasoned and understood. Common sense can be far more effective than "facts" (which are often found to be faulty). What I also love about Greg's approach is that it often quiets those who have emotional or personal reasons to believe what they do. "Oh, I don't believe in God because my dad was a 'Christian' and he beat me when I was young." The way he breaks it down is caring but avoids those kinds of traps that often tangle up so many lost, yet decent people.
STR has recently made little interview clips available on their site. I was just going through some and thought I'd share one here. This is what Greg had to say about God and evil.
I will likely post more of these in the future, but I encourage you to check out the Stand to Reason site and look for answers. If you don't personally know God and are interested in apologetics and the like, it's a great resource. |

I'm exhausted from a long day, but I wanted to at least get this teaser up from today's Trash The Dress session. Many more to come!

I almost never borrow stuff off other people's blogs but this one bothered me so much, that I can't help myself. The amazing and talented Becker posted this today. Take a look and decide for yourself which direction it's spinning.

Now here's what they say about it:

If you see this lady turning in clockwise you are using your right brain.
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.
Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.
See if you can make her go one way and then the other by shifting the brain's current.
BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN
Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:
Left Brain Right Brain
Logical Random
Sequential Intuitive
Rational Holistic
Analytical Synthesizing
Obejective Subjective
Looks at parts Looks at wholes
Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity.

Some people swear it's a trick - that the animation is changing itself. It's not. One way you can be sure is to get two people who see it differently and have them look at the same time.
I saw it one way, then the other, but I was really frustrated by my inability to switch it back. Now I can do it *somewhat* easily. Give it a whirl!

Porsche is becoming somewhat of a celebrity on the blogs. This is what she looks like when you throw a sticky rocket ship on the ceiling. Why am I telling you this? Because I think the world deserves to know what to expect when faced with similar circumstances. Kitty + Unreachable toy = Hours of painful entertainment!
